Xiaomi 17 Ultra vs Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max in UAE (2026): Camera Comparison

Miles Telecom ·

Xiaomi 17 Ultra vs Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max both put a 6.9-inch display around a camera-focused specification. The useful decision is which lens arrangement and software environment match the way you shoot.

For a UAE buyer comparing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max, the primary decision centers on camera optics and your software ecosystem. Before upgrading, consider whether your priority is the Xiaomi's Leica optical reach or the Huawei's high-resolution telephoto framing. Evaluating how Android 16 on HyperOS compares with EMUI 16 for your daily apps will guide your choice far better than raw hardware figures alone.

When assessing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra against the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max, compare the storage and regional configuration as carefully as the model name. Weighing the 1TB Xiaomi tier against the 512GB Huawei configuration requires balancing your local storage demands against the price difference. Keep the exact variant written down so that the price discussion stays tied to the device you intend to buy.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max entries above describe their documented configurations rather than a laboratory result. While both panels operate up to 120Hz and wired rates reach 90W and 100W respectively, real-world frame pacing and charging curves vary with battery levels and thermals. Use these details to shortlist, then check which lens would actually change your pictures.

Camera

Xiaomi confirms a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide and 200MP Leica APO telephoto with OIS. Huawei lists 200MP + 50MP + 40MP and separately confirms a 200MP telephoto with 4x optical zoom. Do not reassign those Huawei resolutions to individual lenses beyond what is explicitly described.

For this Xiaomi 17 Ultra versus Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max camera decision, bring a simple shot list: a face indoors, a wider scene and a subject farther away. Examine final processed captures side by side rather than relying on live viewfinder previews. This ensures you evaluate Xiaomi's Leica tuning and Huawei's zoom rendering on actual images rather than on-paper sensor counts.

Battery and charging

Both list 6000mAh capacity. Xiaomi specifies 90W wired and 50W wireless charging; Huawei specifies 100W SuperCharge. The Huawei entry does not confirm a wireless rate here. Similar capacities do not settle battery life when camera recording, navigation and screen settings differ.

Gaming performance

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers Xiaomi, while Huawei lists Kirin 9030S. There is no matched gaming test in these records. Check that the games and login services you rely on work on the exact regional unit before using processor names as the deciding factor.

If your usage includes extensive outdoor sessions in hot climates, avoid judging either handset from a short demonstration in air-conditioned retail conditions. Sustained gaming outdoors challenges the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Kirin 9030S through display brightness requirements, ambient heat, and mobile data usage. For the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max, there is no verified head-to-head thermal test behind this guide, so no heat-resistance winner is claimed.

Software support

Xiaomi lists Android 16 with HyperOS 3; Huawei lists EMUI 16.0. Confirm your banking, work and backup requirements directly on the Huawei configuration instead of assuming identical app arrangements. Neither specification supplies an exact numerical update policy for this comparison.

Advantages

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Xiaomi clearly documents the roles of all three rear lenses and confirms both wired and wireless charging ratings.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max

Huawei explicitly lists a 200MP telephoto and 4x optical zoom, making distant framing a clear feature to investigate.

Disadvantages

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi remains a large 6.9-inch device, so camera appeal does not make it a compact travel choice.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max

Huawei’s listed 230.5g approximate weight and regional app requirements deserve checking before a camera-led purchase.

Final buying verdict

Buy Xiaomi 17 Ultra if you want its documented Leica APO telephoto and confirmed wireless charging rate. Buy Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max if you want the listed 4x optical telephoto and have verified your essential apps.

Before settling on Xiaomi 17 Ultra or Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max, ask for the exact regional version and verify the SIM setup rather than relying on a family name. Confirm TDRA status against parallel import stock to ensure local network band compatibility and official warranty coverage. Make the final choice around which lens would actually change your pictures, then confirm storage and the charging equipment you plan to use.
